Steam, Kilns and Kites on the Ridgeway (Walk ref 2)

Ride a heritage steam railway from Princes Risborough to Chinnor, enjoy a 2 hour circular walk, exploring Chinnor's industrial and natural heritage via the Ridgeway national trail. Return on the railway to Princes Risborough (connections available to Chiltern Line stations (e.g. London Marylebone, High Wycombe, Beaconsfield, Aylesbury). Please note that engineering works are planned on 6th October which means that until 1025 trains will depart from West Ruislip (on the Central Line) instead of London Marylebone, for anyone who wants to travel from London to join the walk.

Price

The walk is free, but you will need to buy a ticket for the steam railway. Normal price for a day rover ticket is £12 adults, £10 over 60s, children 12-15 £3. However, the day of our walk is 'titfer day', meaning all those wearing a hat get a 50% discount (discount also applies for residents in the HP27 and OX39 postcodes). Car parking at the station is £5.50 for the day from the station ticket machine, Chinnor train tickets from the booth on Platform 4 (cards accepted for both).

Chiltern Railways services from High Wycombe and Aylesbury. Please note that Chiltern Railways have engineering works planned for 6th October which will mean that anyone planning to travel from London to join the walk will need to depart from West Ruislip (Central Line).

Further Information

We arrive at Chinnor station at 1200 and return about 1415 (the train departs at 1500). At both these times the station buffet will be open for drinks, sandwiches and cakes. Toilets available here and at Princes Risborough station.
