In support of 2019's Year of Green Action, the Chilterns Conservation Board has teamed up with the BMC and its Hills 2 Oceans initiative with the aim of removing as much litter from our hills, mountains and crags as possible so it doesn’t end up in our oceans. Join us on a 9 mile walk starting from Princes Risborough and following the Ridgeway National Trail up to Whiteleaf Hill with its mysterious chalk cross and far reaching views, where we will find out more about this chalk downland nature reserve, its history and how it’s managed for wildlife. We will do some litter picking around the car park before continuing through stunning beech woodlands and an iron age hillfort on our way to Buckmoorend Farm where we will stop for lunch. Buckmoorend Farm is a small, family run farm which is part of the Chequers Estate and steeped in history. We will take a different route back to Princes Risborough, through wooded hills.
Buckmoorend Burger: £5.50; Halloumi, Roasted Veg & Pesto Burger: £5.50; Hotdog: £5.50; Soup: £5.50. All meals come with a hot or cold drink. Dietary needs can be catered for if known in advance - please let us know at the time of booking. Other drinks and snacks are available there on the day without the need to pre-order.
Complete Outdoors are our primary sponsors for 2018 & 2019. At their Bourne End (Herts) shop, you will discover all of the equipment, clothing and accessories you need to launch your next expedition into the great outdoors - whether a day's hike close to home, or an assault on the Matterhorn.
Could this be you? We are seeking additional sponsors to enable the festival to continue going from strength to strength - get in touch with AWeiss@chilternsaonb.org if you'd like to know more!
