The majority of the picturesque locations that make up Midsomer country are tucked away in rural Buckinghamshire and South Oxfordshire.Now visitors can tour the villages, stay in the hotels that featured in the many series, see where dark deeds were committed or raise a pint in Barnaby’s favourite pub. If you’re a fan of Inspector Barnaby and the glorious English countryside seen in the series then what better way to explore these special places then on foot, bike or boat. There are public guided tours of 'Henley History and its Midsomer Murders locations' every Saturday from 17 March to 27 October @ 11.00am.  The Tour lasts one hour. Bookings here. The historic market town of Thame regularly features in the series, either as Causton, or as any one of the many villages in the fictional ‘Midsomer County’. You can download a self guided Midsomer Trail leaflet taking in the landmark locations, or join one of the weekly Midsomer tours on offer from April to October. The hour-long tours will be led by specially trained Midsomer guides, and take in many of the filming locations in the town centre that have been used in episodes of Midsomer Murders.
