Getting to the Chilterns

On London's doorstep and being so close to Oxford, Reading, Watford, Hemel Hempstead and Hitchin, the naturally outstanding Chilterns is one of the most accessible areas of countryside in the UK.

The area has excellent rail and bus links, it is served by four main rail lines, the River Thames and the London Underground Metropolitan line, with frequent trains and a journey time of less than an hour from London. It is also accessible by car and small coaches.

Visit our Market Towns section to get specific directions to each location within the Chilterns.

Walks accessible by public transport will be indicated on the festival programme.
